AVELAR’s Library of Historic ‘Title 24’ Codes; “Fall 1984 Training Manual – Seminar on Handicapped Accessibility & Adaptability” DOWNLOAD

Announcements, Building Codes   |   08. 14. 2024

AVELAR continues to share our library of circa 1970-to-1990 California building and accessibility standards to share with all interested building and accessibility professionals. Many of the historical records to be released are cited in senior partner Lonnie Haughton’s paper chronicling the “History and Backstories of California’s ‘1985 State Building Code’”

In 1985, the State Building Standards Commission adopted a comprehensive new State Building Code that included adaptability regulations for new privately funded apartment buildings in California.

AVELAR previously released a copy of the ‘1985 State Building Code’ and the Department of Housing and Community Development’s 1985 and 1989 issuance of it seminal guide “A New Horizon – Accessible and Adaptable Apartments’.We now release from our library a copy of the “Fall 1984 Training Manual – Seminar on Handicapped Accessibility & Adaptability” published by California Building Officials, Inc. (Our team will next release a 1970-to-1975 compendium of amendments by the California Legislature to Government Code 4450 et seq..)
