Revisiting the Four Ds of Wall Design

In 1999, renowned Canadian consultants Donald Hazleden and Paul Morris presented a seminal paper, “Designing for durable wood construction: the 4Ds”, that summarized the 4 D’s (deflection, drainage, drying, and durable – aka, decay-resistant – materials) of successful wall design.
