Parking Space ‘Wheel Stops’ in California – Answers for Puzzled Facility Owners, Managers, and Designers

Even though trip-and-fall injuries at parking space wheel stops continue to occur throughout California (and the nation), parking facility owners, managers, and even licensed architects and engineers often are reluctant to remove them due to fears of unknowingly violating provisions of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the California Building Code (CBC), or the state’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.
