Forensic + Litigation Support
Responsibilities include litigation support services, document review and analysis and report writing in connection with construction defect matters. Participate in field investigations, prepare databases, and attend expert meetings, mediations, depositions, and trials. Responsibilities also include preparation of computer graphic presentations, including digital asset management database, for use in expert meetings and in trials.
Professional History:
Kathie has been working within the legal community since the late 70’s, and within the construction defect litigation industry for over thirty years, having first started as a paralegal. Seeing a need for paralegal work in the forensic architectural business, she joined AVELAR, formerly Richard Avelar + Associates, as a senior litigation analyst in 1998.
Educational History:
Mrs. Caswell attended Michigan State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She also received her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University.

Actively involved in fundraising efforts for the Valley Humane Society located in Pleasanton.
