Kathie Caswell

Kathie Caswell has worked in construction defect litigation for over 30 years, beginning her career as a paralegal in the early 1990’s. Recognizing the need for specialized paralegal expertise in forensic architectural consulting, she joined AVELAR in 1998 as Senior Litigation Analyst. Her role uniquely positions her between the firm’s technical experts and the legal proceedings where their findings are presented. Kathie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University.

As Senior Litigation Analyst, Kathie provides litigation support services including document review and analysis, report writing, and database preparation for complex construction defect cases. She participates in field investigations and regularly attends expert meetings, mediations, depositions, and trials. Kathie prepares computer graphic presentations that translate complex technical findings for legal audiences. Her three decades of experience allow her to anticipate what information will be needed in litigation and ensure it’s organized and presented effectively.
