Nancy Holt is a Specification Writer at AVELAR, where she develops detailed project specifications for reconstruction and repair work. Her responsibilities include conducting product research, developing comparison charts for the building systems and materials typically used on reconstruction projects, and performing product submittal reviews for projects under construction. She also assists with the issuance of bid documents — responding to requests for information, preparing addenda, and supporting bid evaluation and analysis.
Beyond her specification work, Nancy coordinates product “lunch and learns” with vendors to keep AVELAR’s teams current on the latest materials and methods, and she partners with the firm’s construction litigation experts by providing the product information that supports their investigations. This combination of specification, product, and litigation-support work gives her a practical, materials-level understanding of how building systems are specified, bid, and built.

Experience

Nancy brings more than a decade of specification expertise to AVELAR, having worked as a Specification Analyst for ten years. Earlier in her career she spent twelve years in the steel industry, developing deep familiarity with construction materials and product systems.
